Psychotherapy
I am a psychotherapist in training at Bath Centre For Psychotherapy and Counselling. The course is accredited by the UKCP and the MA is validated by Middlesex University. It is a long, postgraduate training over many years, combining rigorous academic and experiential learning. The orientation is Humanistic and Integrative and we are encouraged to form our own synthesis as therapists.
I am in the final stage of training-out of the classroom, researching and writing the papers to submit for MA qualification.
Uniquely, I believe, BCPC helps its students set up in private practice as an integral part of the training; I have many thousands of hours of individual client work since setting up in private practice in 2015. In order to work as therapists we need to know ourselves-weekly personal psychotherapy is a requirement; I have been with my own therapist for over fifteen years and have a further three years’ experience of personal therapy in different settings.

As a trainee psychotherapist registered with the UKCP, I adhere to both the UKCP and BCPC Code of Ethics. I receive regular individual and group supervision and have professional indemnity insurance.
I am also a student member of BACP.
I am also a student member of BACP.

Before setting up in private practice I did my student placement at the SWAN Project in Bristol. This charity specialises in a non-twelve step approach to alcohol addiction and substance abuse. I have also worked with clients who have a history of child sexual abuse.
As a psychotherapist in training I am able to offer competitive fees, below market rates; please contact me for details. Sessions last for fifty minutes and are weekly. I do charge for cancellations; if you are ill I will try and offer an alternative session in the same week if requested, although cannot guarantee to be able to do so. For booked ahead absences such as holidays I offer four weeks annually at half fee, although sometimes we can make up the missed sessions in the weeks either side.

CBT/REBT
My training was with the College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, based in London, and I have an Advanced Diploma in CBT/REBT. The course is accredited with the National Counselling Society. I am a student member of both AREBT and BABCP, adhere to their Codes of Ethics and am working towards accreditation with these bodies.
As a CBT/REBT therapist in training I volunteered with Anxiety UK, a national charity, seeing clients on a one-to-one basis within a CBT/REBT framework.

The building is an elegant Georgian terrace and I have a quiet, spacious attic room, furnished with comfortable chairs, rugs and plants.
The building and room are Covid-compliant and each session will begin with a quick Risk 'check-in' to see if we are comfortable in the room, or whether we need to adjust the environment in terms of masks/no masks, extra ventilation etc... for that particular session.
